Why Can’t the Motor of a Raymond Mill Start?
The operation of a Raymond mill relies on the drive of the motor. The power of this drive directly affects the production process: if the driving force is too low, the mill lacks sufficient power, reducing efficiency; if the driving force is too high, it may lead to over-pulverization of materials. Therefore, the motor's power must be selected based on production needs. However, if the motor fails to start due to certain issues, the Raymond mill will not operate, which halts production. It is thus crucial to promptly identify the causes of a motor startup failure.

I. Causes of the Motor Failing to Start
- Power is not connected or a fuse has blown.
- The overcurrent relay is set too low.
- The motor load is too high, preventing startup.
- Incorrect wiring of the control equipment.
II. Solutions for Motor Startup Issues
- Check the switch, fuses, contacts, and motor lead terminals to identify the exact fault. Repair or replace faulty parts. If a fuse is blown, determine the cause of the failure and replace the fuse according to the proper specifications.
- Increase the relay current setting appropriately.
- If the issue is due to excessive motor load, the solution is to reduce the load, such as by adjusting material feed or dilution (e.g., adding slurry if applicable).
- For incorrect wiring, correct the wiring according to the electrical diagram.
