How to prevent rust on crushing equipment during the rainy season.
Our mining equipment, particularly crushers, is mainly made of steel plates. During the summer, especially in southern regions where rainfall is frequent, special attention must be paid to protection when the equipment is stored outdoors. An open-air production environment is unfavorable for storing crushers because acidic substances in rainwater may cause corrosion. Therefore, maintenance of crushers in summer is particularly important, as it directly affects the service life of the equipment.

During the operation of the crusher, the following two points should be noted:
- Avoid operating under load at low temperatures — ensure the machine is preheated and only begins working after reaching normal operating temperature.
- Prevent equipment from operating under high temperatures — before and during operation, regularly check various temperature readings. If any issues are found, stop the machine immediately, identify the cause, and perform necessary maintenance to ensure the crusher does not operate with existing problems.
In addition, during regular operations, it is important to check the cooling system. For water-cooled machinery, the coolant level must be checked and refilled before daily work. For air-cooled machinery, the cooling system should be cleaned regularly to ensure the heat dissipation channels remain unobstructed.
The two necessary factors for steel corrosion are moisture and oxygen. During the rainy season, the key to rust prevention for crushers is proper isolation. Main preventive measures include:
- Repairing areas where paint has peeled off on the equipment surface to effectively isolate oxygen and moisture;
- Regularly applying grease to internal parts of the machine to ensure proper functioning;
- Timely lubrication of bearing connections to protect components from rainwater intrusion.
With increasing environmental protection requirements, more crushing production lines are being moved indoors. This shift helps prevent weather-related equipment damage and downtime, reduces environmental impact, and supports environmentally friendly production.
